The Easiest Natural Deodorant Recipe That Really Works – Only 3 Ingredients
Most of us can’t live without deodorant. Unfortunately, most deodorants and antiperspirants on the market are made with toxic ingredients such as aluminum chlorohydrate, parabens, propylene glycol, triclosan and others that are hazardous to our health and can cause cancer, Alzheimer’s and allergic reactions. Skin is our largest organ. What you put on your skin gets absorbed into your system. Here’s a good rule to follow:

Personally, I think it’s worth it to make my own deodorant in just a few minutes. It’s easy to do it and really works!
There are only three ingredients in this homemade deodorant. It’s so safe you can eat it:
1. Baking Soda
Naturally helping to prevent body odor and balancing the acid/alkaline of the skin. Baking soda is also naturally aluminum free.
2. Organic Coconut Oil
Has natural antibacterial properties and is soothing and nourishing to delicate, underarm skin.
3. Arrowroot Powder
Absorbs moisture and gives a silky texture. Helps to serve as a thickener.
UNSCENTED HOMEMADE DEODORANT
4 tablespoons baking soda
4 tablespoons arrowroot powder
7 tablespoons coconut oil
Optional: If you’d like a scent, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. For example sage it’s reputed to have natural antiperspirant properties as well as a pleasing aroma but lavender, orange or lemongrass would work well too.
If you have sensitive skin you will want to cut the baking soda down to 2 tablespoons and add 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder instead.
Gently warm the coconut oil so that it’s soft enough to stir easily. Mix all ingredients together until combined. Store mixture in a glass jar.
To use simply swipe two fingers gently into the mixture and rub on your underarms. You can also transfer it to an empty deodorant tube for mess free application.
Note: May soften or melt and separate in warm temperatures. Simply stir to remix the contents as it re-solidifies for 100% effectiveness. Some people like to keep their deodorant in the fridge during warm months. I recommend keeping it in a tightly sealed container if traveling.
If you’re transitioning to natural deodorant for the first time, you may find that it doesn’t work for you right away. This is totally normal and it will takes about a week before your body starts to adjust.
