6. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 2-3 weeks. During this time, the sugars in the apples will ferment and turn into alcohol. Bacteria will then convert the alcohol into acetic acid, creating apple cider vinegar.
7. Every day or two, press down on the apples with a clean spoon to keep them submerged in the liquid.
8. After 2-3 weeks, strain out the apples and discard them.
9. Transfer the vinegar to a clean glass bottle or jar and store it in a cool, dark place for up to a year. The longer it sits, the stronger the flavor will become.
