Heal Stomach Ulcers With Cabbage Juice

Stomach ulcers are small holes or sores in the gastrointestinal tract which affect millions of people every year.

The most common major symptom of an ulcer is a burning or gnawing feeling in the stomach area that lasts from half an hour up to three hours.

Usually, the pain occurs in the upper abdomen, but may sometimes occur below the breastbone.

Also known as peptic ulcers, stomach ulcers are caused by the destruction of the gastric or intestinal mucosal lining of the stomach by hydrochloric acid, an acid normally present in the digestive juices of the stomach.

Infection from the bacterium Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is thought to play an important role in causing both gastric and duodenal ulcers.

H. pylori may be transmitted from one person to another through contaminated food and water.

Fortunately, there is a natural remedy which can heal and soothe stomach ulcers without the risk of mainstream drugs.

Studies have shown that cabbage juice has remarkable healing powers for ulcers. It has been used for centuries.

Cabbage is a reflux remedy as it naturally stimulates the production of hydrochloric acid (HCL). This permits digestion to proceed normally.

Many nutritionally oriented doctors claim considerable success using 1 quart per day for 10 to 14 days, with ulcer symptoms frequently decreasing in only a few days.

Cabbage, both red and green, is one of the least expensive of the vitamin-protective foods and one of the most healthful.

It is impressive with its high content levels of calcium, iron, iodine, potassium, sulfur, and phosphorus. In the vitamins department, it is loaded with vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, E, K and folate.

Stomach Ulcers

Raw cabbage detoxifies the stomach and upper bowels of putrefactive wastes, thereby improving digestive efficiency and facilitating rapid elimination.

It also works to alkalinize the body, stimulate the immune system, kill harmful bacteria and viruses, soothe and help prevent cancer, and clear up the complexion.

So the very best home remedy for ulcers is eating raw cabbage. Juicing the raw cabbage will make it easier to take and mixing it with carrots in the juicer will make it better tasting.

The flavor combination of carrot and cabbage is well tested, as cabbage and carrot are the base ingredients of many varieties of coleslaw.

CABBAGE JUICE RECIPE

Makes about half a cup.

2 cups cabbage

1/2 small carrot for taste (optional)

To juice cabbage simply cut a segment out of the cabbage head and chop it into blocks small enough to fit down the juicer feeding chute.

Juice the cabbage and carrot.

When juicing cabbage you should not drink more than about 4oz of cabbage juice at a time.

If you consume too much cabbage juice in one go then you may experience a feeling of gas and slight cramps in the intestine due to the sulphur in the cabbage juice reacting with bacteria that exist in the intestines.

Drink half a cup before each meal and at bed time. Make sure that it is fresh. Your ulcer may be gone in only a few weeks.

If you don’t have a time to juice or don’t like the taste, fortunately, the ulcer-healing compound in the juice is available in supplement form.

One of the active ingredients is glutamine, an amino acid that nourishes and repairs the lining of the digestive tract.

Lipski recommends taking 8,000 milligrams of glutamine a day for 4 weeks.

Personally, I always prefer the most natural form to supplement.

Other tips:

∗ It is good to eat at least three bananas a day. These fruits contain an antibacterial substance that inhibits the growth of ulcer-causing H. pylori. Studies show that animals fed bananas have a thicker stomach wall and greater mucus production in the stomach, which helps build a barrier between digestive acids and the lining of the stomach. Eating plantains is also helpful.

∗ Cultured products will provide the friendly “bacteria” that fight H. pylori. Drink kefir milk or eat some live cultured yogurt every day.

Raw honey soothes and reduces inflammation of the lining of the stomach and is good for healing as well.

You can also use potato juice for stomach ulcers.
