It is the best natural hair gel recipe for curly or wavy hair, and it only takes about 10 minutes to make!
Hair Styling Gel Recipe
Makes about 4 oz
Ingredients
2 tablespoons of organic whole flaxseeds
1 cup of filtered water
Optional:
Few drops of essential oils for scent
Few drops of aloe vera gel for a moisturizing effect
(or try to use about 1/2 tbsp of aloe vera to the 2 tbsp flaxseed gel).
Instructions
Bring water to a boil.
Stir in the flaxseeds and reduce heat.
Simmer for about 7-10 minutes, stirring constantly, until a gel-like lotion is formed.
Strain out the flaxseeds using a strainer or cheesecloth and let the gel cool.
Note: Do not simmer longer than 10 minutes else you won’t be able to strain out the flaxseeds from the gel.
Mix a few drops of essential oils and/or aloe vera if desired.
Pour natural hair gel into a small bottle and use immediately or refrigerate.
Because this natural hair gel has no preservatives, it will last about 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
Pour a dollop into the palm of your hand and mix through wet hair as frequently as desired.
Gel will not flake or make the hair hard or crunchy. Safe to use everyday.
