The Best French Press Coffee

I’ve always loved my coffee in French press, but after I started preparing it with whole beans and fresh heavy whipping cream, I had no idea what I was missing.

Now I always grind the coffee beans fresh, brew in French press and mix it with a fresh whipping cream.

For me this is the best way to make coffee! It is so delicious!

Making the coffee in a French press

To make one cup of coffee, I grind about 3 tablespoons of whole beans in a coffee grinder.

Add the freshly ground beans to a French press.

Cover it with one full cup of water that is just under a boil.

Give it a little stir.

Allow the coffee to steep for about 5 minutes.

Than add about two full tablespoons of fresh heavy cream to the bottom of a mug, top with the French press coffee, and stir it.

Coffee with whipped cream topped by shredded dark chocolate.

Instead of ready-made whipped cream, I always prepare my own. I also do not use ultra-pasteurized cream, I use raw organic cream.

How to make a whipped cream

It’s simpler than it seems! For this you will need:

125 ml of heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon of maple syrup

I use this electric hand mixer.

Pour the cream into a large, deep bowl and add the maple syrup.

Use a deep mixing bowl large enough to allow the whipped cream to expand as you whisk, while keeping the cream from splashing out. One cup of cream will make about two cups of whipped cream.

Start with a low speed and move the beaters in wide circles to incorporate all the cream until it starts to thicken and the beaters start to leave visible trails. Know when to stop when the cream is just right for how you want to use it.

For 1 cup of coffee I use 2 full tablespoons of whipped cream. My two children eat the rest of it and always ask for more. The whipped cream is already sweeten, so it’s like dessert for them. The small amount of sweetness from the maple syrup makes it just perfect.

The type of coffee you drink is incredibly important. Good coffee is good for you, but bad coffee is bad for you. Conventional coffee is also a high mold-toxin food.
