Healthy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

There are toxic chemicals like propylene glycol – antifreeze in your ice cream – you may be treating your family to poison!

This recipe shows you how to make vanilla ice cream with wholesome, nutrient dense ingredients. It’s relatively simple with an electric ice cream maker.

Ice cream can be a delicious way to get healthy fat, calcium, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals (if using real raw cream, egg yolks from pastured chickens, and pure organic maple syrup) into children that are sometimes not big milk drinkers.

If you make homemade ice cream with quality ingredients, it turns into a healthy food.

 

Healthy Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

makes 1 quart

3 egg yolks
3 cups heavy cream preferably raw, not ultra-pasteurized
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon arrowroot powder

Instructions

 

Beat egg yolks and blend in remaining ingredients.

Pour into an ice cream maker and process according to instructions (about 20-25 minutes for my machine).

Pour into a shallow, glass baking dish. Cover with a lid and keep in the freezer.

You can also use stainless steel popsicle molds.
